Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Headphones

We have lived with the Sony WH-1000X range of headphones for quite a while now and they have always been among the best headphones we have tried. The latest incarnation, the WH-1000XM3 is no exception and continues to build on an already very capable platform.

You might be forgiven for thinking that Bose could offer up a decent challenge, but in our opinion that’s not necessarily the case as although Bose has definitely nailed it when it comes to noise cancelling capability, Sony has not only developed very capable noise cancellation technology of its own, but it has also been keen to stay on top of its game when it comes to sound quality.

This coupled with a 30 hour battery life and quick charge mode, there is little more that we could want for in a pair of headphone. However, Sony has seen fit to furnish the XM3’s with a more comfortable padded bridge, intuitive touch controls and integration with Google Assistant.

The only thing that we could think of as being a slight negative for these headphones is when you use them to make a call. Whilst they’re fine for the occasional conversation you probably wouldn’t want to be using them extensively for making calls in an office environment as call quality isn’t as good as it could be.

Looks - 83%
Sound - 92%
Noise Cancelling - 92%
Battery Life - 94%
Call Quality - 85%

It may only be a marginal upgrade from the 1000MX2's but as they were great anyway, any improvement ticks our box. We particularly love the noise-cancelling capability and the amazing sound quality and with 30 hours of battery life, these headphones hit all the right notes.
